OCTAVE ATTUNE EAM + APM. DIAGNOSIS, DEPLOYMENT AND SUSTAINMENT BY MAXINST

The asset warns before it fails. Is anyone listening?

Octave organizes the asset lifecycle into four fronts (Design, Build, Operate, Protect). Attune EAM and Attune APM live in the Operate front: EAM organizes all maintenance work, APM decides when to act before the asset fails. Maxinst diagnoses, deploys, integrates and sustains both in your operation.

  • Octave Attune EAM

"What needs to be done, with what, and by whom?"

  • Octave Attune APM

"Which asset will fail first, and when do I need to act?"

"It's always been this way" isn't a maintenance strategy

Most critical-asset operations still decide maintenance the old way: replace by time, not by condition. Swap the bearing every six months because that's how it's always been, even when the asset's real data says otherwise.

The result is the worst of both worlds: a part replaced too early wastes budget, a part replaced too late becomes unplanned downtime.

The problem is rarely a lack of data. It's data that doesn't become a decision in time.

Two questions, two products

Every critical-asset operation is constantly asking two questions at once, and most solutions on the market only answer one of them.

"What needs to be done, with what, and by whom?"

Octave Attune EAM

Organizes work orders, inventory, budget, purchasing, inspection and field labor (with a mobile app that works offline) in a single source of truth.

"Which asset will fail first, and when do I need to act?"

Octave Attune APM

Runs in four movements, from risk to corrective action:

  1. 01

Assess evaluates the risk of each asset

  2. 02

Protect organizes the strategy against known failure modes

  3. 03

Monitor monitors the asset's digital twin in real time

  4. 04

Act coordinates corrective action before the problem escalates

Separately, EAM organizes the asset's past and present. APM points to its future. Integrated, the operation stops reacting and starts anticipating.

Attune APM — midstream oil & gas

A North American midstream oil & gas operator used time-based maintenance for compressors and faced repeated failures from lubrication contamination, each costing between $30,000 and $70,000.

Instead of a multi-year project, they started small: digital twins of the critical compressors, real-time temperature, vibration and pressure monitoring, maintenance plans realigned to the actual failure mode. Within months, the failures stopped repeating, and the result opened the way to expand the same approach to other asset classes.

International case documented by Octave itself.

Where Maxinst comes in

Having the right software doesn't solve anything on its own. Maxinst works on Attune EAM and APM in three stages.

  1. 01

    Diagnosis

We map the operation before recommending any technology. The right technology changes depending on each client's budget and objective.

  2. 02

    Orchestration

We deploy and configure Attune EAM and APM, and integrate both with your corporate systems (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle NetSuite, TOTVS, IFS, Aveva, supervisory systems, among others) via Octave Databridge Pro, closing the data flow that today depends on someone copying and pasting between screens.

  3. 03

    Sustainment

We keep evolving the solution with you: new features, a new stage of maturity, not just the environment running.

What this delivers, in three verbs

Prevent.

Reduce risk before the incident.

Perform.

Maximum performance every day.

Predict.

Anticipate failure before it happens.

Why Maxinst

Octave delivers both Attune EAM and Attune APM in two models: SaaS and On-Premise. When the client opts for SaaS, Octave itself sustains the infrastructure behind it. When the model is On-Premise, that environment is sustained by Maxinst or by the client itself.

But in either model, sustaining means more to Maxinst than just keeping the environment up. It means implementing the new features Octave continuously releases and translating each one into the next step of maturity for your asset management operation. That's what Maxinst proposes as a partner: enabling you to evolve with the platform, whichever delivery model you choose.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between EAM and APM, and do I need both?

EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) organizes and executes the day-to-day operation of your assets: work orders, inventory, purchasing, field mobility. APM (Asset Performance Management) looks at risk and performance: predicts failures, prioritizes repairs and guides maintenance strategies based on data. They complement each other — EAM feeds APM with operational data (assets, PMs, work orders) and APM returns actionable advisories to EAM. Many operations start with EAM alone and add APM once data maturity allows it.

Do I need a big, long project to get started?

Not necessarily. The midstream oil & gas case shown in this material started small, focused on the most critical compressors, and delivered measurable results within a few months. The recommendation is to start where the risk is greatest, prove value, and expand.

Does Attune EAM already come with mobile and investment planning, or do I need to assemble that separately?

It comes included. The Plus Edition packages Desktop and Advanced Mobile as named user, plus investment planning, activity dispatch, Python Studio, 2D/3D digital twins and reporting in a single license, without the hidden-tier logic common in the market.

What is Octave Aria?

It's the AI assistant built into Attune EAM. It guides tool usage (onboarding, navigation, configuration), searches technical documentation and OEM manuals in natural language, and answers questions about the EAM's own data without requiring SQL knowledge. The goal is to speed up decisions and preserve technical knowledge that today lives only in the heads of senior specialists.

Does Octave Aria touch my data outside the company's environment?

No. According to the product documentation, data doesn't leave the client's infrastructure, the architecture is tenant-isolated and built for regulated industries.

Does Maxinst automatically recommend the Octave platform, since you're partners?

No. Maxinst diagnoses the operation before recommending any technology, based on the client's budget and strategic objective. That neutral diagnosis is what sustains our way of working.

Deciding maintenance by time is gambling. Deciding by data is orchestrating.
